Patch testing helps us to find out whether there is a specific substance, or group of substances, causing an allergic reaction on your skin.
It is suitable for patients who suffer with contact allergy conditions. For example Hand Eczema.
This is a specialist procedure, carried out by applying patches to the skin on your upper back and securing with a hypoallergenic adhesive. Each patch contains a number of common contact allergens, including dyes, chemicals, preservatives, metals, and more.
These are checked for any reactions between 48 - 72 hours after application, with a final check-in at 7 days. The reactions are graded in severity, and you will be given information about each allergen, and how to avoid, after your 7 day review.
Patch testing can only be carried out on clear skin. You may require a medical consultation first to ensure we bring your eczema under control, prior to applying the patches.
Please see the below leaflet for further information.
The cost of the patch application appointment, interpretation appointment, and final 7 day check in is £350.
A non-refundable deposit of £100 is taken at time of booking. It is crucial that you are available for all three appointments. Visit the home page to book online.
I run Patch Testing Clinics once per month., usually Monday --- Thursday --- Monday.
